　「土浦市金婚をたたえる集い」に出席させて頂きました。
　
　今年結婚５０年を迎えるご夫妻は、日本が高度成長期を迎えた昭和３８年の結婚をした皆さんです。
　東京オリンピックの前年であり、街には景気上昇の雰囲気で充実していました。「見上げてごらん夜の空を」「こんにちは赤ちゃん」の歌謡曲が流れ国民の心を潤した一方で、ケネディ暗殺があった年です。土浦市では、現市庁舎が、移転新築された年です。
　今日は、１９９組３９８名の方が勢ぞろいされました。当然それなりの年齢差があるものの、「喜びも悲しみも」全てを５０年の時の中で見事に胸に収めて晴れがましいお姿がそこかしこに見られました。
　私も皆さまの姿を拝して、心の中でわが自慢を確認しました。それは、私の父母も妻の父母も元気で居るということです。私達の親世代が夫婦揃っていることにおおきな幸せを感じます。
　家族の単位は、夫婦から始まるのです。ここから子どもが生まれ育ち、そして旅立つことで更なる親戚縁者の広がりが生まれます。他人が他人で亡くなる夫婦の繋がりほど不思議な人間の営みと感じ入ります。
　各テーブルをご挨拶に回らせていただき、心からのお祝いと感謝とこれからの健康長寿を申し上げさせていただきました。今年もまた素晴らしいひと時を過ごしました。
